Born and raised in the Western Cape, Karen studied BSc Agriculture Oenology and Business Management at the University of Stellenbosch.
After graduating in 2002 she did a harvest in McClaren Vale, South Australia and after that experience went on to work at Harrods as a Sales Executive for wines.
After this time abroad, Karen joined the Delheim Wine Team as Assistant Winemaker and worked there from 2004 through 2007. She also had a brief stint as winemaker with Vin-X-Port and then in October 2008 joined the team at Accolade Wines SA.
It is Karen’s flawless focus on our pared-back approach to winemaking that ensures the Fish Hoek range of single varietal South African wines remains consistently and simply good.
